- the country was born through a partition on the basis of religious differences this way traumatic experience for the people of India and Pakistan at last 10 lakh people were killed on both sides of the border in partition related violence .
- the British had left it to the rulers of the princely states to decide whether they wanted to merge with India with Pakistan or remain independent the merger of this princely states was a difficult task .
- when the constitution was being written the future of the country did not look very secured the makers of the Constitution had considered about the present and the future of India .........

It may means that half of the constitution, rules and laws were already set up by Britishers...All the things including railway system, traffic rules, tax systems were made by British...So, the people who made constitution only have set up the rights of people and made the laws democratic.
Although, it is wrong to say that they did nothing, they gave more that a month for writing constitution...It was really a hard work. Your line may means that it was easy to set up but although, hard working.
