Hello friend,

Yes male is responsible for the sex determination because male contains both the gametes XY and in both of these which one goes and fuses makes up the baby's gender but this is just a matter of chance and noone can do anything for this male is not responsible for sex determination physically or mentally the gametes fuse by themselves.
