CP of 10 bananas = 45
CP of 1 banana = 45/10 = 4.5
SP of 12 bananas = 51
SP of 1 banana = 51/12 = 4.25
SP < CP
therefore its a loss
loss = 4.5 - 4.25 = 0.15
loss% = 0.15 x 100 /4.5
= 5.56%
CP of 1 banana = 45/10 = 4.5
SP of 12 bananas = 51
SP of 1 banana = 51/12 = 4.25
SP < CP
therefore its a loss
loss = 4.5 - 4.25 = 0.15
loss% = 0.15 x 100 /4.5
= 5.56%

I will just reframe the question:-
"A man bought 10 bananas at the cost of 45 rupees and sold 12 bananas for 51 rupees find his gain or loss percentage. Please tell me the answer and explain me the math."
So according to your question,
the Cost Price (C.P) of 10 bananas = ₹45
then the cost of 1 banana = ₹4.5 (45/10)
while the Sale Price (S.P) of 12 bananas = ₹51
then the Sale Price of 1 banana = ₹4.25
Since the Sale Price is lower, the loss = Cost Price(C.P) - Sale Price(S.P)
=> 4.5 - 4.25 = ₹0.25
The loss percentage = (loss/Cost Price of 1 banana)* 100
=> (0.25/4.5)*100
=> 5.56% (approximately)
Therefore your answer is 5.56%

Therefore your answer is 5.56%
