The Indian rebellion which took place in the year 1857 was a sudden occurrence due to the mutiny of sepoys from the East India Company. Mangal Pandey an Indian soldier played a vital role during this rebel. He lived in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh and was a member of the East India Company. In the year 1957, an open rebellion began in Barackpore, a place near Calcutta because he was not willing to use the greased cartridges. He made his comrades also to join with him.
