let mangoes be X
apples be y
then..
1kg of X = 12.................................(1)
1kg of y = 18.................................(2)
thus
adding (1) and (2)
x+y=12+18
=30
the man buys only mangoes and no apples for rs.180
then
some quantity of mangoes costs 180!
so we need to find the quantity of mangoes
so,
quantity of mangoes = 180/12=15
hence the man purchased 15kgs of mangoes and no apples..
