Manish has Rs. 34 in 50-paise coins and 25-paise coins. If the number of 25-paise coins is four more than twice the number of 50-paise coins, how many coins of each kind does he have?​

Let Manish has ′x′ 50-paise coins and ′y′ 25-paise coins

She has Rs34

Since Rs1=100paise

Rs34=34×100=3400paise

50x+25y=3400....(1)

Given that

y=2x....(2)

Putting (2) in (1) we get

50x+25(2x)=3400

50x+50x=3400)

100x=3400

x=34

from (2) we get

y=2x=2×34=68

So,

Number of 50-paise coins=34

Number of 25-paise coins=68
