Given:

Manjula can complete a stitching job in 4 days and Meena can do the same job in 6 days.

To Find:

Both start the work together, but Manjula leaves the job after 2 days. How much longer will Meena take to complete the job?

Solution:

Manjula can complete a stitching job in 4 days

Manjula do part of work in 1 day =\frac{1}{4}

Meena can do same job in 6 days

Meena can do part of work in 1 day =\frac{1}{6}

They together do a part of work = \frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{3+2}{12}=\frac{5}{12}

Manjula leaves the job after 2 days

They together a part of work in 2 days =\frac{5 \times 2}{12}=\frac{10}{12}

Remaining work = 1-\frac{10}{12}=\frac{2}{12}

Meena complete whole work in days = 6

Meena complete \frac{2}{12} work in days =6 \times \frac{2}{12}=1

Hence Meena will take 1 day to complete job
