Manufacturing a soap:
Soap is made from animal fat or vegetable oil. They are natural occurring sources of long chain carboxylic acid or alcohol like glycerol.
Soap is formed when animal fat or vegetable oil is heated along with concentrated caustic soda ( also known as sodium hydroxide) which split out to form soap & glycerol.
The process of making soap by the hydrolysis of vegetable oil along with sodium hydroxide is called saponification.
