Wise people say, ‘Forbidden fruit always appears ro be the tastiest’. In our worry to keep our children away from the bad influences, we have created such a complicated system of rules and regulations that they feel tempted to break them. There are many other causes behind this urge to go berserk. The image of studies and education has been made so repulsive by the system, that children are always finding excuses to avoid it. Education is more an exploration than slogging for passing examinations, tests, and handing in assignments. However, the current system is such as education appears to be a burden. Hence, the students feel repulsive towards it. Hence, there is tendency to break the school rules.
The schools and teachers must not corrupt the joy giving pursuit of education by putting unnecessary burdens of rules and regulations on the students. The teachers must intrigue the students towards the charms of education. Learning and gaining knowledge is an adventure. Teachers must expose and reveal to the students the thrill involved in it. The classroom learning must be more interesting than the bunking experience. Undoubtedly the students do feel like breaking rules; but they should be counseled properly to maintain discipline as without it it is impossible to do well in life as well as studies.
There must also be foolproof system to track students’ commuting to the school. There is already technology available. The sensors in the identity cards send an automated sms to the parents confirming the arrival of their children at the school. Besides, the teachers must make the learning experience very thrilling at school. Education actually is much more charming and intriguing than the temptations of distractions, all that is required is the revelation of the magic in it.
Punishments never bring positive results. Whenever a child breaks a rule, he / she is punished. This can be rectified by asking the children to frame the rules, for their class first. This will be strictly followed by children of lower classes. If they break the rules, we can make them do something constructive instead of punishing them by making them to stand out or calling their parents.
II) Most of the time, children are expected to go in line, not shout and not talk while moving out. We can always emphasize on these rules by showing them videos of those children who go in line and can show examples of “Ant”. No matter what, if there is one child in a class who has attention seeking syndrome, then, he will be joined atleast by 4 or 5 kids to break the rules. Only, counseling and seeking doctors help can solve this issue.
