Many trees in a forest were cut down to make way for a new factory. Which three events could happen due to deforestation
1) Fragmentation of forests leads to allopatric speciation.
2) Animal species evolve differently to suit the environment.
3) Animal species migrate to different ecosystems.
4) Animal species have a decreased chance of speciation.
5) Animal species will have an increased chance of finding an unrelated mate.

Explanation:

I think the answers are options 1,3 and 4. I don't think it is allopatric speciation because as we know allopatric speciation happens when a species get Geographically isolated..but since there is no forest that scenario doesn't make sense.....

Following are the events that could happen due to deforestation:-

1),2) and 3)

  • Fragmentation of forests leads to the destruction of habitats of various animals leading to their migration to different ecosystems in search of food and shelter.
  • Allopatric speciation is the evolution of two different species from the same population due to a physical barrier that divided the population into 2 populations such that there is no gene flow.
  • Due to loss of habitat, food, and shelter, many animals may migrate leading to the separation of populations leading to allopatric speciation.
  • Some animal species in an isolated area may evolve differently to suit the environment- changing food habits may lead to the evolution of different organs. for example, darwin finches evolved to have different beak shapes in order to coadapt to different kinds of food.
