When flowers are brightly coloured, fragrant and produce sweet nectar, they attract insects for pollination very easily. Bright colour attracts insects by affecting their sight sense. Fragrance also attract insects by affecting their smelling sense. Sweet nectar is what attracts insects as they require it for their food.

These characters help flowers to attract living pollinators like insects .

Explanation:

Entomophily:-

These are the flowers which need insects to transfer their pollen grains from one plant to another. These plants have characters like:-

  1. They have brightly colored sepals and petals.
  2. They have fragrance.
  3. They have nectar towards which insects attract to collect it.
  4. They are exposed and larger in size as compare to those which are wind and water pollinated.

Thus, these characters are helpful to attract insects toward flower for the process of pollination.
