Many types of flowers produce parts that are fragrant and sweet tasting. Describe how these are characteristics are important for dispersal.

These characteristics appeal to insects. The insects approach the flower for the purpose of consuming the nectar. When the insect makes contact with the flower, pollen grains get attached to its body. When the insect travels to the next flower ( with the pollen grains still attached to its body) the pollen from the previous flower gets deposited in the next flower. Thus, insects act as effective pollinators and help in dispersion of pollen.
