it is easy
let's take an example of india,
here jammu and kashmir is in the north
kerala, tamil nadu are in south
west bengal Is in the East
and
gujarat and rajasthan is in west

so if u are standing in the middle of map facing towards jammu and kashmir which is I north......
take ur head as north,
leg as south,
right hand as east
and
left hand as west.....
