Marco polo became a very close associate of the Emperor of Yuan dynasty, Kublai Khan.The Kublai Khan gave Marco Polo a letter written for Pope Clement IV, requesting Pope to send men to China to teach Christianity. Marco Polo was given a very high position in the Emperor's court and was sent to many diplomatic mission to Southeast Asia
