The weight of sugar in 1 bottle is 1.65 kg

Solution:

Given that,

Marcus bought 8.6 kg of sugar

He poured the sugar equally into 5 bottles

There  was 0.35 of sugar left over

Thus,

Quantity of sugar in 5 bottles = 8.6 - 0.35

Quantity of sugar in 5 bottles = 8.25 kg

what was the weight of sugar in 1 bottle ?

\text{ weight of sugar in 1 bottle } = \frac{\text{Quantity of sugar in 5 bottles}}{5} \\\\\text{ weight of sugar in 1 bottle } = \frac{8.25}{5} \\\\\text{ weight of sugar in 1 bottle } = 1.65

Thus weight of sugar in 1 bottle is 1.65 kg
