Question :- Maria has a cube-shaped box that measures 9 inches along each edge. Can she fit 1,000 1-square-inch cubes inside the box ?

Solution :-

Given that, each edge of cube-shaped box is 9 inches.

So ,

Volume of cube-shaped box = (edge)³ = (9)³ = 729 inches³.

Now, we have to fit 1 - square - inch cubes inside the box .

So,

volume of each smaller cube box = (edge)³ = (1)³ = 1 inches³.

Therefore,

Total number of smaller cubes that can fit inside a cube-shaped box = (Total Volume of cube - shaped box) / (Volume of 1 smaller cube box) = (729/1) = 729 cubes.

Hence, Maria Can't fit 1,000, 1 - square-inch cubes inside the box.
