Antony gave an emotional speech on Caesar's funeral. Though he called himself a plain blunt man with no skills of oratory like Brutus, it turned out that he had a great power of oratory. The very purpose behind his shaking hands with the conspirators was to get a chance to seek revenge for the wrongful death of Caesar. He made his speech an opportunity to speak about the sarcastically and yet managed to tell the reality to mob. He told them that Caesar was in no sense ambitious. He brought the captives back to Rome and their ransoms were given from the general coffers. He denied the crown not once but thrice. He gave the mob every evidence to prove Caesar's innocence. The mob had already become furious about this time. He fuelled the anger even more by reading Caesar's will in which he had made the citizens of Rome the heirs of his property. Now, the mob could not control its anger and ran to burn the houses of conspirators to avenge the death of Caesar.
