SOLUTION:

The correct option is (d) : 12/13

Given :  One card is drawn from a well shuffled Deck of 52 playing cards.

Total number of outcomes = 52

Let E = Event of getting not an  ace

Number of  ace in a Deck  = 4 (1 from each suit )

Number of  non ace cards in a Deck = 52 - 4 = 48

Number of favourable outcomes to E = 48

Probability P(E) = Number of favourable outcomes / total number of outcomes

P(E) = 48/52 = 12/13

Hence, the probability of getting not an ace  ,P(E) = 12/13  .

\textsf{Answer :}

Option D is correct.

\textsf{Step-by-step explanation :}

A deck of cards contain 52 cards. A deck contains 4 Queen, 4 King and 4 Jacks.

And the deck contains 4 ranks - clubs (♧), diamond (◇), spades (♤) and hearts (♡).

A deck contains 4 ace. Each one of different ranks. 1 of clubs, 1 of diamond, 1 of spade and 1 of hearts.

Now, probability -

\large{\implies \frac{Favourable\:outcome}{Total\:number\:of\:outcome}}

Here,

Number of favourable outcome =52-4=28

Total number of outcome = 52

Probability of not getting an ace -

\implies \frac{48}{52}

\implies \frac{12}{13}

Thus, option D is correct.
