One day, Nemmu felt sick while playing and swam back alone to his home at a slower speed. Marlin had started swimming from coral at the usual speed for an hour to pick up Nemmu when he spotted Nemmu on the way. They swam back together at their usual speed to get back to coral. They reached their coral, 40 minutes earlier than usual. How much time did Nemmu miss in the squid zone?

Marlin  picks up Nemmu from the squid zone at 5 pm in the evening, they swim back home at the same speed.  

One day, Nemmu felt sick while playing and swam back alone to his home at a slower speed.  

Marlin had started swimming from coral at the usual speed for an hour to pick up Nemmu when he spotted Nemmu on the way. They swam back together at their usual speed to get back to coral.

They reached their coral, 40 minutes earlier than usual.  

To Find : How much time did Nemmu miss in the squid zone?

Solution :  

1st - Here we are as suming , stream speed zero  as nothing mentioned about upstream /downstream

Now They reach 40 mins before  

Hence Marlin saves 20 for  going and and 20 for  return  

So Marlin me et Nemmu 20 mins before normal pick up time 5 PM

that means at 4 : 40

Now  Nammu reached at 4 : 40 PM at that point  

need to find , when she left squid zone

For that we need to know Nammu speed  

at a slower speed does not give how slow  

As suming Half speed  then she will take 40 mins    ( 20 x 2 )

Hence she left squid zone = at 4 PM

So she missed it for 1 hr   ( 60 Mins)

But here we as sumed that Nammu speed was half ( but thats not given )
