Let us find two solutions of x + y = 7

if x = 1, then y = (7 - x) = (7 - 1) = 6, therefore, (1, 6) is one solution.

if x = 0, then y = (7 - x) = (7 - 0) = 7, therefore, (0, 7) is another solution.

like wise we can have infinitely many solutions.

Given

x + y = 7……………..(1)

Let us consider x = 1

Then equation (1) becomes

1 + y = 7

y = 6

Let us consider x = 2

Then equation (1) becomes

2 + y = 7

y = 5

∴ (1,6) and (2,5) are the two solutions of x + y = 7.
