To Find :  what is the speed of martha

Solution:

Let say they meet after t hrs

Distance covered by sarha  = 40t  km

Distance covered by  martha  = xt  km  x  is the speed of Martha

After that

Distance covered by sarha = Distance covered by  martha in next 5 hrs

=> 40t  = 5x

Distance covered by  martha  = Distance covered by  Saraha in next 3 hrs

=>  xt  = 40(3)

=>  xt = 120

 xt = 120

40t  = 5x

=> x/40 = 120/5x

=> x² = 960

=> x ≈ 30.98

speed of martha  ≈ 30.98
