Mass of a body is 25 kg. What is its weight in Newton on earth? The body is carried to a planet whose mass is two times the mass of earth and radius is half that of earth. What will be the mass and weight of the body on the planet? (Take the value of g on earth as 10 m s–2)

Given :
mass=m=25kg.
g= 10m/s2

weight on earth=W=mg=25x10=250N

The body is carried to a planet whose mass is two times of earth=2M
radius=R/2

Formula to be used:
g=GM/R²

=G(2M)/(R/2)²

=8GM/R²
g

= 8(GM/R²)
=8x10 [ ∴ g on earth=10m/s2]=80 m/s2

Therefore weight of body on other planet is W=mxg=25x80=2000N and
mass remains constant through out  universe=m=25kg
