Kinetic energy = 1/2mv²

Case 1:

Let mass of boy = m

Mass of man = 4m

Ke of boy = 0.5mv²

KE of man = 1/2 × 4mv² = 2mv²

Ratio of kinetic energy of boy to man :

0.5 / 2

= 1 : 4

Case 2

Let velocity of man = v

Of the boy = 4v

K.E of boy = 0.5 × 16 v² × m

= 8mv²

K. E of man = 0.5 × 4m × v² = 2mv²

Ratio of kinetic energy of boy to man :

8 / 2 = 4 / 1

This equals to 4 : 1
