Azad Dasta-
It was started by Vithal Laxman Kotwal aka Bhai Kotwal. He was a soco political reformer from Neral, Maharashtra. Belonging to a barber family, he completed his education from a local school and shifted to Pune for completing his Graduation Degree.
When he came back to his village, defying his family tradition, he set to help the people affected from cyclone. With this journey, he came to acknowledged that the landlords were charging more taxes as the peasants were illiterate. He started a school for the children of poor.
Later, during drought, he came up with innovative idea of Grain Bank.
He was influenced by the socio communist movement and also participated in Quit India Movement in 1942. He went underground after the arrest of famous political leader along with Gandhiji and on 2nd January 1943, he shot dead by the British police officer.
Lal Sena -
Lal Sena also known as Red army. General Awari's Lal Sena of Nagpur had left the Government helpless. It was an anticolonial guerilla army formed on 13 April 1939. This group was founded by Magan lal Bagdi and Pandit Shyam Narain Kashmiri.
Azad Radio -
Azad Radio was an underground radio station which spread the ideas of Nationalism during Quit India Movement in 1942. Usha Mehta was an active Gandhian ideologist and freedom fighter. This radio played crucial role in coordinating the various protests when the senior leaders of Congress were arrested.
