IT IS A RECTANGLE

AB=CD=9yd

BC=AD=8YD

IN THIS A RIGHT ANGLED TRIANGLE IS CUTTED OF..

SO THE SIZE OF THE SIDE WILL BE REDUCED

IN SIDE BC=9YD

ONE PART IS 3YD

SO REMAINING PART IS 6YD WHICH IS THE PERPENDICULAR PART OF RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE

IN CD=8YD ONE PART IS 3YD

SO REMAINING PART IS 5YD WHICH IS THE BASE OF THE TRIANGLE

AREA OF SHADED REGION =AREA OF RECTANGLE - AREA OF RIGHT TRIANGLE

AREA OF RECTANGLE =L×B=9×8=72YD^2

AREA OF RIGHT TRIANGLE=1/2B×H=6×5×1/2=15YD^2

AREA OF SHADED REGION =72-15=57YD^2

Given : A right angle triangle has been cut from a rectangle of sides  8 yd & 9 yad

To find : Area of Shaded region

Solution:

Rectangle has sides

= 8yd  & 9 yd

Area of Rectangle = 8 * 9  = 72 yd²

Right angle Triangle has two perpendicular Sides

8 - 3  = 5 yd   & 9 - 3  = 6 Yd

Area of right angle triangle  = (1/2) * 5 * 6  =  15 yd²

Area of Shaded  region = area of rectangle - Area of right angle triangle

=> Area of Shaded  region = 72 -15  = 57 yd²

Area of Shaded  region = 57 yd²
