we know, : If two triangles are similar, then the ratio of the area of both triangles is proportional to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides.

so, let the corresponding side of QR i.e, MN = x

9/16 = x²/28²

9/16 = (x/28)²

√(9/16) = x/28

3/4 =x/28

x = 28*3/4

x = 7*3

x = 21

therefore, MN = 21 cm
