General instructions for this paper
All questions are compulsory.
There is no choice in any of the questions.
Question papers consist of 31 questions divided into four sections A, B, C, D and OTBA. Section A consist 4 questions of 1 mark each, Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each, Section C comprises of 9 questions of 3 marks each, Section D comprises of 11 question of 4 marks each.
Section OTBA comprises of 2 questions of 3 marks question and 1 question of four marks question..
Use of calculator is not prohibited.
Some sample questions from the solved practice paper are given below
Question: Give the equations of two lines passing through (2, 14). Calculate how many more such lines are there also give reason?
Solution:
The equations of lines are, y = 7x and x + y = 16. When we put x = 2 and y = 14, it satisfies both the equation.
There are infinitely many lines possible as there are infinitely many linear equations, which are satisfied by the coordinates of the point (2, 14).
CBSE Class 9 Online Test
Question: A cylinder is 3 m height and the circumference of its base is 22 m. Calculate its curved surface area.
Solution:
Here, height of cylinder = 3 m and circumference = 22 m.
Curved surface area = Circumference of the base × Height = 22 × 3= 66 m2.
Question: The value of π upto 50 decimal places are: 3.14, 15, 92, 65, 35, 89, 79, 32, 38, 46, 26, 43, 38, 32, 79, 50, 28, 84, 19, 71, 69, 39, 93, 75, 10.
(i) Make a frequency distribution of the digits from 0 to 9 after the decimal point.
(ii) What are the most and the least frequently occurring digits?
