Objective: To reinforce the concepts of area and perimeter
Materials required: Checkered paper
Steps:
1. Divide the students into groups of 4.
2. Each group will be given a 15 x 15 grid to work on. The students will have to
make a design of the school ground.
3. One member will make the announcement corner having an area equal to
20 sq. units and a perimeter equal to 18 units.
4. The second member will make the VIP enclosure having an area equal to
30 sq. units and a perimeter equal to 22 units.
5. The third student will make refreshment stalls having an area equal to 20 square
units and a perimeter equal to 24 units.
6. The fourth student will make a parent's enclosure in the remaining area.
7. Put up your drawing on the class notice board and find who has got the best
design.
