Maths question: find the difference between the following pairs of points (2, 3),(4,1)

by the formula
 \sqrt{(x2 - x1) { }^{2} + (y2 - y1) ^{2} }
here (2,3)=(x1,y1) and (4,1)=(x2,y2)
after calculation ,the ans is 8or 2√2

I think its not difference but distance
So for distance between points A(2,3) and (4,1)
=√(2-4)^2+(1-3)^2
= √(-2)^2+(-2)^2
= √4+4
=√8
= 2√2
Hence the distance between A and B is 2√2 units
