As E is mid point of BC

So. BE = EC

ADD ED both sides

BE + ED = EC + ED

BD = ED + DC + ED.

BD = 2ED + DC

therefore. BD IS NOT EQUAL TO DC

ALSO AD is shortest as perpendicular distance is always shortest
