let first digit be x =y/2
second ditgit be y, third be a and forth be b which is y+1
since y+a=10 then
Now from x+y+a+b=23
Substitute y/2+10+y+1=23
y/2+y=23-11
3y/2=12
3y=12×2
3y=24
y=24/3
y=8 is the second digit
when you substitue 8 where there is y you get; first 8/2=4, third 10-8=2, forth 8+1=9
