Answers
Answer:
In the story "Necklace" Matilda always wanted to live a lavish, luxurious life. she was fond of beauty, nice big house, pretty clothes and many more stuff.
But her desire of living a lavish life destroyed her ten years of youth. She borrowed necklace from her friend mme frostier and it gets lost after the ball. Her husband tries to search it everywhere. They report to the police but it isnt found. Then to return the necklace her husband takes loan from many lenders and collects a total sum of 18000 franks. Matilda had to work all by herself with no maid and live in attic .After returning the necklace and repaying the loan she gets to know that the necklace was not even the worth of 500 franks.
This is how her over ambitious nature spoils her 10 years of youth and beauty.
