Answer:(b) 1869
Explanation:
Mayo College
Mayo College was established in the year 1869 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India.
It was informally known as Mayo. It is a boarding school exclusively for boys and the oldest public boarding school of the country.
The idea of conceiving this school was first put forward by Colonel Walter in the year 1869. In 1875 the school was established by Richard Bourke, 6th Earl of Mayo, the Viceroy of India who held on to the post of Viceroy from 1869 to 1872. The first principal of the school was Colonel Sir Oliver St John.
The main objective of establishing this school by the British was to provide education for the Indian upper class mainly the princes and nobles of the country.
Hope this helps.
