(c) its own length + length of a bridge

When a train crosses a bridge, it has to cover a distance which is equal to the sum its own length and length of the bridge.

Explanation:

  • There are to ends of a train. When a train enters a bridge, its two ends also cover the bridge individually.

  • That is the train covers two lengths - its own length and length of the bridge.

  • For example, if a 75 meter long train has to cover a 135 meter long bridge, then it has to cover a total distance of (75 + 135) meter = 210 meter.
