Hey there !!!

A thermostat is a temperature sensor that is found in many common electrical devices. It simply switches the heating system (on and off) when ever necessary.

Working of a bi metallic thermostat----

A bi metallic thermostat mainly consists of 2 strips .
The strip works as a bridge in an electrical circuit connected to your heating system.
The metallic strip carries electricity through the circuit and during this process th bi metallic strip gets heated and as a result it bends.
Eventually it breaks the circuit when it gets heated.
After some time it cools down and restores its original shape.
Thus, it acts like a thermostat which senses the temperature and i
t simply switches the circuit (on and off) when ever necessary.
