Next if the previous mean was 50 and there was 100 elements the the total number of all of the numbers added was 100x50=5000.

We then remove 100 from this set to make it 4900 in total and then add 110.

In doing this the new total is 5010

The number of things in the set is still 100 because we took 1 when we removed 100 making it 99 things but then added one back when we added one more which was 110.

Therefore the total value of the numbers added is 5010 and the number of numbers is 100 the mean is therefore 5010/100 or 50.1
