Answer:

Answer :-

The new mean is 43.

Solution :-

Mean of 15 observations = 23

Number of observations = 15

We know that

Sum of observations = Mean * Number of observations

Sum of observations = 23 * 15

= 345

Given each observation is multiplied by 2

So multiply sum of observation by 2

Sum of observations when each observation is multiplied by 2 = Sum of observation * 2

= 345 * 2

= 690

We know that

Mean = Sum of observations/Number of observations

So, New mean = 690/15

= 43

Therefore the new mean is 43.
