Mean of 50 observations was found to be 80.5 . but later on it was discovered that 96 was misread as 69 at one place. Find correct mean. If in each observation a constant value K is added, how is the mean affected.

Answer:

Mean=80.5

No of observations=50

Sum of observations=80.5×50=4025

Later:

Sum of observations=4025+96-69=4052

Mean=4052/50=81.04
