Consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds in words that are close to one another in a piece of text, as in 'Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers'. Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds, sometimes creating end rhymes

assonance :-

resemblance of sound between syllables of nearby words, arising particularly from the rhyming of two or more stressed vowels, but not consonants (e.g. sonnet, porridge ), but also from the use of identical consonants with different vowels (e.g. killed, cold, culled ).

"the use of assonance throughout the poem creates the sound of despair"

consonance :-

agreement or compatibility between opinions or actions.

"consonance between conservation measures and existing agricultural practice"

synonyms: agreement, concord, accord, accordance, harmony, unison, conformity;

the recurrence of similar-sounding consonants in close proximity, especially in prosody.

"the abrupt quality of the sound is echoed in the final ‘t’ consonance of ‘discreet’ and ‘shut’"
