In metaphor the things compared are treated as one and the same and the words of comparison'as','like',or'so' are not used. ex. Life is a dream. clearly, life is compared with dream but there is no showing the compare words. thanks I hope that it will help you ☺️☺️☺️ now, about personification, lifeless objects and abstract ideas are thought of as persons having life. ex. opportunity knocks at the door but once.
