There are two types of movements that we develop, Motor and sensory. They are controlled by our central nervous system (CNS) which consists of our brain and spinal cord.
Sensory is when the brain receives electric signals about any kind of sensation from any part of your body.
For example, you touch a hot vessel and your hand sends a signal to your brain that the vessel is hot.
In case of motor movements, the brain sends neural messages (electric signals) to any part of the body.
For example, when the hand sends the message to the brain that the vessel is hot, the brain will tell the hand to not touch the vessel anymore for its safety.
Motor development progresses over different stages of our life.
I hope it helps!
