Its not pencil savings its pencil shavings and pencil shavings are those shavings which we get when we shread our pencil to sharpen it.

Whenever you sharpen your pencil, the so called thing which you throw in the dustbin is called pencil shaving.It will be clear from the picture which i have provided.
