Answer:-

We have three types of equations ,they are :-

•Word equation

•Skeleton equation and a

•Balanced equation.

1.Word equation ,

The names of reactants and products with arrows are written.

Example :-

Carbon + Oxygen —> Carbon dioxide

2.Skeleton equations :-

These are the equations where we write in their molecular states/formulas.

It is an unbalanced equation.

Example :- C + O_2 —> CO_2

Skeleton equations are also called as primary equations.

3.Balanced Equations :-

These are balanced on LHS and RHS.

They are balanced as per the law of conservation of mass.

Mass of reactants is equal to mass of product

So the equation will be balanced as per it .

We only add the numbers to coefficients not to the subscripts.

Example :-

2HgO —> 2Hg + O_2

•By balancing we can know how many formula units of susbstance has taken place in reaction

Steps to balance equations :-

1)Write the equation with correct chemical formula for reactants and products

2)While Balancing,we must not change the subscripts but we can assign suitable numbers as coefficients

3)The equation must be written in least ratio of whole numbers

4)Verify the equation for balancing of equation on both sides.
