Measures of soil conservation are as follows : -
1. Afforestation :
It means to grow more and more trees in a region. As we know, roots hold the soil tightly and prevents "soil erosion".
2. Deforestation should be avoided :
Deforestation means cutting down of trees in a region. Roots hold the soil tightly, if we uproot a tree then it will hardly effect the soil. It results in soil erosion.
3. Use of green manures instead of fertilizers :
Manures are prepared on the grounds while fertilizers are prepared in laboratories. Fertilizers are chemically prepared. It reduces the fertility of soil. Hence, manures should be used instead of fertilizers.
4. Maintain PH of soil :
Due to use of fertilizers and acid rain, soil become infertile. So, install a PH indicator to check the amount of acids present in the soil.
5. Overgrazing should be avoided :
Animals often uproots the plants. Due to this soil looses it's strength and other nutrients.
