C) Normal breathing rate ranges from as high as 30 to 60 breaths per minute at birth to as low as 12 to 16 breaths per minute at age 18. • This means that the breathing rate in children is higher as compared to the adults. ________________________________ D) The rate of breathing is mostly determined by the heart and the lungs. •... Men are capable of achieving a higher heart rate than women. • This affects the amount of oxygen the lungs and heart can deliver to the body. •In addition, men have a larger heart and lung capacity compared to women.  ________________________________ Hope that it helps:)

(i) The breathing rates of children and adults are different.

(ii) The breathing of males and females are different.

Explanation:

(i) When I measured the breathing rates of children and adults in my home, I found that the breathing of children is quicker than that of the adults. The reasons can be due to the fact that children have smaller lungs and the oxygen getting inhaled is lesser and they have to quickly breathe more to incorporate more oxygen.

(ii) When the breathing rates of males and females were measured I found that females have a higher breathing rate than the males as the former have smaller lungs.
