Disaster management is the management and organization of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian features of emergencies.

In my locality measures taken to implement disaster management. The involved parties (government and non-government organizations) mainly follow the major process of anticipation, assessment, prevention, preparation and recovering.

These are some of the measures taken:

1. Pre-incident training and testing i.e Ebola and Swine Flu training, training of involved personnel. This also includes joint disaster management plans which are all pre-set.
2. Communication and incident assessment i.e miscommunication can lead to worsening of emergency events therefore laying down appropriate communication channels. Assessment of evacuation plans and response of involved rescue parties  which all depends on the pre-set criteria within the disaster management plan.
