The medium through which sound can be traveled
- Sound waves are longitudinal waves. That is When the direction of propagation of the wave is in the same direction as the displacement of the medium, the waves are longitudinal.
- Sound travels at different speeds depending on what it is passed through. Of all the three mediums (gas, liquid, and solid)
- Sound waves travel the slowest through gases, faster through liquids, and fastest through solids.
- Temperature affects the speed of sound.
