QUESTION

Meghan is tiling a rectangular floor of length 20 m and breadth 15 m. Liz is tiling a square floor of side 25 m. Who takes more time to tile the floor?

Solution

Area of floor tilled by Meghan = length × breadth

area = 20 m\times 15m \\ area = 2 {00m}^{2}

Area of floor tilled by Liz = Side × Side

area = {s}^{2} \\ area = ( {25m})^{2} \\ area = {625m}^{2}

Area of floor tilled by Meghan < Area of floored tilled by Liz

{200m}^{2} < {625m}^{2}

so Liz will take more time .
