Side along the river = Twice of x

= 2x

Now,

Area of trapezium = 1/2 x ( sum of parallel sides) x height

10500 = 1/2 x ( sum of parallel sides) x

Height

10500 = 1/2 x (x+2x) x100

10500 = (3x) x 50

10500 = 150 x

10500 / 150 = x

70 = x

x =70

Side along the road = x = 70 m

and Side along the river = 2 x =

2 x 70 = 140 m
