melting of wax is different from Burning of wax why

I think cuz when it's burning it's producing carbon otherwise when it melts it stays the same and doesnt produce anything more

BECAUSE, at this time, we are trying to burn the wick of the candle. Once the wick catches fire, the generated heat melts the wax near by. The liquid wax then, moves upward the wick due to capillary action. ... Burning of candle wax is similar to burning of wood, logs or any other hydrocarbon.
